Kennesaw’s Rising Star: Steele Ingram’s College Decision Journey
Steele Ingram, a standout wide receiver from Kennesaw, Georgia’s North Cobb, is making waves in the college football scene. He’s been chatting with several schools, including Coastal Carolina, Kansas State, and Memphis.
Ingram shared with On3, "Kansas State, Memphis, and Coastal Carolina are the top three schools that are coming after me the most."
When it comes to Memphis, Ingram knows quite a bit. "They’ve had a strong receiving corps for the last five years," he noted. He also mentioned his admiration for receivers coach Larry Smith. At Coastal Carolina, Ingram has built a solid relationship with wide receivers coach Perry Parks and head coach Tim Beck. What’s exciting? They’re offering him the chance to be a dual-sport athlete, allowing him to play both football and baseball.
That’s a pretty amazing opportunity for Ingram, who stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 195 pounds. He’s got some visits lined up to Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee. With interest from the in-state Bulldogs and Yellow Jackets, he’s hopeful for future offers.
"I’ve been talking to Georgia Tech for a long time," Ingram said. He’s also been in regular contact with Georgia’s wide receivers coach James Coley.
Though there’s still plenty of time in his recruitment journey, Ingram has clear priorities. He’s looking for a school with a strong culture and fanbase. "If a school has a good relationship with the fans, a lot of people are going to come to games, and you’re usually going to win a lot of games," he explained. Plus, he wants to play as a freshman and have a solid connection with the coaching staff.
This young athlete is weighing his options carefully, and it’ll be exciting to see where he lands. Could he be the next big thing in college sports? Only time will tell.
