Wesley Winn’s Big Decision: Joining the Boston College Eagles
A Young Talent’s Commitment
Wesley Winn, a standout athlete from Bellflower, California, has made a major decision. Even though he’s just a sophomore, the 5-foot-10, 165-pounder has already caught the attention of over 40 schools. But he’s set his sights on one: the Boston College Eagles.
Winn shared his excitement, saying, "It is early, but I have been thinking about this and I am ready to lock my commitment in." He’s drawn to the team because of Bill O’Brien, the head coach with an impressive track record. "They have shown they can get receivers out, I like the offense, they have great academics and it is a great fit for me."
A Memorable Visit
Just over a week ago, Winn visited Chestnut Hill, home to Boston College. It was an eye-opening experience. "I met with coach O’Brien, watched film with coach Will Lawing, and toured the campus," he recalled. The college town vibe and the stunning campus left a lasting impression. Plus, the business school is top-notch, which aligns perfectly with his academic goals.
Why Boston College?
Before making his choice, Winn explored other options. He checked out Arizona State in January and attended games at California, Miami, SMU, and Washington last fall. Despite these visits, his heart was set on Boston College.
"It was really a no-brainer," he said. Coach O’Brien’s experience stood out, and their conversations made Winn feel special. The coach even compared him to some of the greats he’s worked with before—like Julian Edelman, Wes Welker, and Danny Amendola. That’s pretty amazing company to be in!
Training with the Best
Adding to his confidence is his training with Zay Flowers, a former Boston College wide receiver. This connection only strengthens his belief in the program and what it can do for his future.
So, what’s next for Wesley Winn? With such a strong foundation and support, the sky’s the limit. Will he become one of the standout names in college football? Only time will tell, but it sure looks promising.
