Ah’Mari Stevens, a talented wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale’s American Heritage, has made his choice. The Class of 2027 standout is heading to Miami. He shared the big news on Monday.

It’s a pretty big deal. Ah’Mari had lots of offers from other top schools, including Ohio State and NC State. But Miami won him over.

He’s already visited Miami a few times, so he’s no stranger to Coral Gables. Now, he’s officially part of head coach Mario Cristobal‘s future plans.

“How the coaches bond, the campus, the offense, the team,” Stevens said about what drew him to the Hurricanes. “A lot of stuff that stands out and I’ve been liking them since I was little.”

Stevens also talked about his connection with receivers coach Kevin Beard. “Coach Beard offered me when I was just a freshman. It was my sixth offer, and we’ve built a tight bond,” he shared. “Coach Cristobal would tell me a lot of great things. Going to the games and seeing how they operate was big.”

At 6 feet tall and weighing 165 pounds, Stevens is the first recruit for Miami’s 2027 class. He wanted to wrap up the recruiting process early.

His dad, Frederick, explained why Miami feels like home: “Ah’Mari’s cousin Dallas Crawford played there, so Miami has always been special. Coach Cristobal is an amazing recruiter. Who wouldn’t want to play for a hometown hero?”

Last season, Stevens racked up 910 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore. Not too shabby!
