Texas quarterback Arch Manning faces mounting questions about his accuracy and mechanics as analysts examine his potential for the 2027 NFL Draft.
Analyst Steve Palazzolo raised concerns about Manning’s development during Tuesday’s “Check the Mic” show. The Texas signal-caller entered the 2025 season with considerable hype but struggled early in his first year as the starter.
“I still don’t think he’s throw-for-throw accurate,” Palazzolo said. “I think his ball placement is all over the place, and I don’t love his front arm. I think it affects his accuracy.”

Palazzolo pointed to mechanical issues that could limit Manning’s ceiling. He noted the quarterback’s tight arm motion creates problems with release point consistency.
Manning completed just 61.4% of his passes in 2025. He took 23 sacks and showed inconsistency under pressure.
The completion percentage represents a key concern for NFL evaluators.
Mel Kiper Jr. addressed Manning’s draft status on ESPN’s “First Draft” podcast this week. Kiper said Manning needs to push his completion rate closer to 70% to maintain his position as a top prospect.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported mixed feedback from NFL executives about Manning’s evaluation. One assistant general manager suggested the Manning name might be inflating expectations beyond his current performance level.
Manning remains in Heisman Trophy discussions heading into 2026. However, accuracy concerns could allow other quarterbacks to pass him in draft rankings.
