Auburn landed a commitment from Class of 2026 quarterback Rhys Brush, who flipped from the University of South Florida to join the Tigers’ recruiting class.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound quarterback had been committed to USF since February. His flip comes days after former South Florida head coach Alex Golesh was hired at Auburn.
Brush has put up numbers at Armwood High School in Florida over four seasons. He’s completed 348 passes on 550 attempts for 6,094 yards, 87 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
His senior season showed improvement in decision-making.
Brush completed 63.5 percent of his passes this year. He threw 24 touchdowns against just two interceptions.
The timing of his commitment suggests Golesh’s influence played a role in the flip. Golesh brings his up-tempo offensive system to Auburn, which fits Brush’s skill set.
Auburn’s quarterback room gets a boost with this commitment. The Tigers hadn’t secured a quarterback in the 2026 class before landing Brush.
Brush’s completion percentage and touchdown-to-interception ratio show the accuracy coaches want in their system. His four years of varsity experience at Armwood provided consistent production.
The commitment gives Auburn momentum in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Landing a quarterback early often helps programs recruit skill position players who want to see the passing game taking shape.
