The NFL Draft begins Thursday, with college football players ready to take their next career step.

For Penn State’s Tyler Warren, the question isn’t if he’ll be drafted but which team will select him. ESPN’s Field Yates believes the Chicago Bears should target the pass-catching tight end with their first pick at No. 10.

“People I’ve spoken to around the NFL are already imagining the creative offensive wrinkles new coach Ben Johnson could think up for Warren, who is terrific with the football in his hands,” Yates wrote.

His colleague, Mel Kiper, agrees.

“This is a fun pick. If Warren is there, I’m betting Chicago will jump at the opportunity to draft him,” Kiper wrote.

Warren posted 104 receptions and eight touchdown catches last season, helping Penn State reach the Orange Bowl.

The tight end has caught attention from current NFL players, including Indianapolis Colts receiver Michael Pittman Jr.

“That Penn State tight end is pretty good. I’ve personally seen what he can do to my USC Trojans,” Pittman said, per The Indy Star’s Nate Atkins.

According to Mike Florio, Warren won’t attend the draft at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Bears haven’t had a significant tight end since Greg Olsen, making Warren a potential fit for their offense.

Regardless of destination, Warren isn’t expected to remain available for long when the draft begins.
