Every coach leaves things behind when they take a new job. Lane Kiffin’s departure from Ole Miss to LSU apparently included some unexpected donations to local thrift stores.

Kiffin’s Ole Miss coaching gear has surfaced at a Goodwill store in Oxford, Mississippi. The items still bear his name from his time leading the Rebels.

Barstool Ole Miss posted photos of the thrift store find on social media.

The discovery comes as Ole Miss fans continue to process Kiffin’s exit during what many consider the program’s best season in decades. Pete Golding has taken the Rebels deep into the College Football Playoff this year.

Many fans still blame Kiffin for leaving during a potential national championship run.

LSU signed Kiffin to a seven-year, $91 million contract. He replaced Brian Kelly, who was fired mid-season after failing to meet expectations in Baton Rouge.

The Tigers reportedly spent over $40 million to maintain their current roster of mostly transfers. That’s reflects the pressure on Kiffin to immediately compete for College Football Playoff spots.

Kiffin returns to Oxford during Week 3 of the 2026 season.

The matchup will feature numerous storylines beyond the typical coaching change narrative. It now includes the possibility that some fans might be wearing his old gear purchased from local thrift stores.
