The Buffalo Bills need to add another elite weapon for quarterback Josh Allen after failing to secure a wide receiver during NFL free agency.
Several talented wide receivers are projected as first-round picks in next month’s NFL Draft, but Buffalo might need to trade up from their current No. 30 position to land one.
Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports predicts the Bills will trade with the Minnesota Vikings to move up to the No. 24 pick, where they’ll select Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka.
“Josh Allen is the franchise in Buffalo, so the Bills had better give him everything he needs to finally get them over the hump. That could mean sending a pair of fourth-round picks to the pick-poor Vikings to move up ahead of multiple teams that could be targeting Egbuka, a polished and pro-ready pass-catcher with elite route-running skills.”
Easterling projects the Vikings would still land South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori at No. 30 after the trade.
Egbuka helped lead Ohio State during the 2024 season, showcasing both playmaking ability and potential as a possession receiver.
He caught 81 passes for 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Buckeyes last season.
The 21-year-old receiver provided consistent production for quarterback Will Howard and could potentially do the same for Allen in Buffalo.
Adding Egbuka could boost the Bills’ offense as they continue pursuing a Super Bowl appearance. Buffalo’s front office might see an aggressive trade as necessary if they believe Egbuka fits their offensive scheme.
