Minnesota and Northwestern wrapped up their regular seasons against each other last weekend.
But that wasn’t the end of either team’s 2024 campaign. Both programs earned bowl bids.
Bowl season announcements came Sunday, with the Golden Gophers and Wildcats learning their postseason destinations.
Minnesota heads to Rate Bowl
The Golden Gophers will play in the Rate Bowl on Dec. 26.
Minnesota faces New Mexico in the matchup. The game kicks off at 4 p.m. ET.
Northwestern gets GameAbove Sports Bowl
Northwestern also plays Dec. 26, taking on Central Michigan in the GameAbove Sports Bowl.
The Wildcats face the MAC opponent with a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
Both Big Ten programs will cap their seasons on the same date, just three hours apart.
The bowl selections give each team a chance to finish with a winning record and build momentum heading into the offseason.
