The Texas Longhorns added the No. 1 receiver in the transfer portal in January. Former Auburn star Cam Coleman is already making an impact during spring practice.
Coleman made a spectacular one-handed catch during practice last week. He reached back with his left hand to grab a tipped pass that seemed out of reach.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian was impressed with the play. “That was a crazy catch, man…that was a heck of a play,” Sarkisian said.
When asked about Coleman’s catch radius compared to other elite receivers, Sarkisian made a bold comparison.
“I would probably say Julio Jones at Atlanta. Julio was similar…[he] had that ability to…high point those balls the way that he does and still be a vertical threat.”
That’s high praise from a coach who knows Jones well. Sarkisian served as Atlanta’s offensive coordinator during the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
Jones averaged 100.5 receptions and 1,560.5 yards during those two seasons. He made the Pro Bowl both years and earned Second-Team All-Pro honors twice.
Coleman brings NFL potential to Austin
Coleman transfers to Texas as a projected first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. He’ll team up with quarterback Arch Manning as the Longhorns chase a national championship.
The receiver’s athleticism and production will be key factors in Texas’s title hopes this season.
Coleman gives Manning a reliable target with exceptional range. His ability to make contested catches should open up the Longhorns’ passing attack.
Texas opens the 2026 season against Texas State on September 5. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
