Colorado defensive tackle Amari McNeill announced he’s declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft.

McNeill made the announcement in a message to fans that emphasized gratitude over promotion. He thanked God, family, teammates, and the coaching staff before stating his intentions clearly.

“I will be declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft,” McNeill wrote.

The message didn’t include any hedging language about testing the waters. McNeill’s tone suggested he’s confident in his timing and ready for the next step.

Deion Sanders responded with public support on social media.

“Love ya man and I believe in you,” Sanders wrote. “I pray your path leads directly where u desire to be.”

Sanders didn’t try to change McNeill’s mind publicly or mention unfinished business with the program.

McNeill faces an uphill battle to get drafted. He’s not appearing in published seven-round mock drafts and isn’t listed in widely used draft-tracking databases.

That doesn’t eliminate his chances but creates urgency for his evaluation process.

Colorado’s pro day in March will give McNeill a chance to showcase his abilities in front of NFL scouts. The all-star circuit offers another opportunity to raise his draft stock.

Events like the American Bowl, East-West Shrine Bowl and Hula Bowl have helped players break into draft conversations before.

McNeill is betting on himself to prove he belongs at the next level.
