Shedeur Sanders received his second speeding ticket of the month, according to public police records. The Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback was cited for driving 41 mph over the posted speed limit.

The back-to-back violations have drawn criticism from NFL media.

NBC’s Mike Florio called out the 23-year-old’s decision-making on “Pro Football Talk.”

“Shedeur Sanders is as deep into the public eye as you can be,” Florio said. “It just speaks to a lack of awareness. You have to understand how your behavior is going to result in consequences. After everything he’s been through, you would think he would’ve figured it out by now. One, fine; two, come on, man.”

Sanders had built momentum after his performance at Browns minicamp following his draft selection.

The former Colorado quarterback’s draft stock fell during the pre-draft process due to character concerns. Teams questioned his maturity and decision-making abilities.

These traffic violations add to existing questions about Sanders’s judgment off the field.

The Browns selected Sanders later than many projected. His talent level doesn’t match elite prospects like Andrew Luck, meaning he has less room for off-field mistakes.

Sanders generates significant merchandise sales and fan interest for Cleveland. That popularity gives him some protection within the organization.

However, continued incidents could outweigh his marketing value. The Browns’ front office will monitor his behavior closely moving forward.

Sanders needs to demonstrate better awareness of his public profile and the consequences of his actions.
