Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has accused Virginia of “offering a bag” to Buffaloes defensive back Carter Stoutmire, suggesting improper recruiting tactics in violation of NCAA rules.

“What’s the school that offered the bag? Virginia,” Sanders said in a recent video appearance. “Virginia, you got to stop.”

Sanders continued with what appeared to be a reference to a previous transfer situation.

“I’ll let you have one,” he said. “I ain’t say nothing about it. Come on, now. Come on. We let you have one. I ain’t say nothing about it.”

While Sanders didn’t specify who he was referring to, Colorado running back Isaiah Augustave recently entered the transfer portal and has been connected to Virginia.

Stoutmire, who was part of Sanders’ first recruiting class at Colorado, recorded 42 tackles and seven passes defensed last season.

Despite the alleged offer, Stoutmire hasn’t entered the transfer portal, indicating he’s staying with the Buffaloes.

Transfer tampering accusations have become increasingly common in college football as player movement between programs has become routine under current NCAA rules.
