The Dallas Cowboys could land multiple draft picks if they decide to trade Micah Parsons, the former Penn State standout who’s become one of the NFL’s top defensive players.
But a recent trade proposal from Mike Luciano of FanSided wouldn’t bring Dallas the massive haul many expect.
The proposed deal doesn’t include a single first-round pick.
Falcons-Cowboys Trade Proposal
Despite the lack of premium picks, Luciano believes the Cowboys should seriously consider the offer.
Falcons receive: Micah Parsons
Cowboys receive: James Pearce Jr., 2026 second-round pick, 2027 second-round pick, 2026 third-round pick
“The Cowboys will not be able to replace Parsons with the assets they acquire from the Falcons in this trade, but they will get more than enough resources to stitch together a deep defensive line from this haul. Atlanta getting Parsons without giving up Walker would be a huge win.”
The trade hinges on Atlanta’s urgency to compete while Michael Penix Jr. remains on his rookie contract.
“A trade is very much unlikely at this point, but if the Falcons want to win while they have Michael Penix Jr. on his rookie contract, they may need to be aggressive enough to risk parting with multiple premium picks in order to pull off a league-shattering Parsons trade.”
James Pearce Jr. was a first-round pick in the 2024 draft and has shown promise as a rookie. The Tennessee product is considered one of the better first-year players in the league.
But comparing him to Parsons creates an obvious gap in proven production.
Parsons has already established himself as a superstar at the NFL level. He’s made three Pro Bowls and earned Defensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2021.
The Penn State product can rush the passer and cover ground as a linebacker, making him one of the most versatile defensive weapons in football.
