Oregon defensive lineman Derrick Harmon projects as a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, according to Pro Football Network’s latest mock draft.
The mock draft sees the Dallas Cowboys trading up to select Harmon with the No. 26 overall pick. The proposed trade would send picks No. 44 and 76 in 2025, plus a 2026 third-round selection, to the Los Angeles Rams.
Derrick Harmon (6-5, 310) recorded 45 tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles and two passes defended in 2024, his only season with Oregon after transferring from Michigan State.
“The Dallas Cowboys need to play catch-up to the Philadelphia Eagles, and after bolstering their defensive backfield, trading up to secure a potential run-game wrecker in Derrick Harmon would immediately transform their defense,” Pro Football Network wrote.
The mock draft analysis emphasized Harmon’s versatility as an interior pass rusher, noting his potential impact against NFC East quarterbacks Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels.
Harmon spent his first three college seasons at Michigan State before transferring to Oregon for the 2024 campaign, where he helped lead the Ducks in their national championship pursuit.
The Cowboys’ defensive line needs align with Harmon’s skill set as they look to strengthen their front seven. Dallas hasn’t reached the NFC Championship game since 1995.
Several Oregon players are expected to be selected in the 2025 draft following the team’s successful 2024 season.
