Devin Fitzgerald will announce his college commitment Saturday at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET, according to reports from recruiting services.

The Brophy College Prep wide receiver has narrowed his choices to four finalists. Clemson, Notre Dame, Stanford and UCLA are competing for the 6-foot-2, 205-pound pass-catcher.

Fitzgerald is the son of NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald.

Notre Dame appears to hold the edge heading into decision day. The Fighting Irish are pursuing three receivers in a 48-hour window.

Kaydon Finley committed to Notre Dame on Friday. The four-star receiver from Aledo, Texas, became the first piece of what could be a significant weekend for the program.

Brayden Robinson will announce his decision Sunday. The four-star receiver from Red Oak, Texas, rounds out the trio Notre Dame is targeting.

Marcus Freeman could address his program’s receiver needs with three commitments in one weekend.

But Fitzgerald’s decision is crucial for that plan to work.

Notre Dame leads, but Clemson, Stanford and UCLA are pushing hard through the final hours. Each program is making a strong case to land the Arizona prospect.

Fitzgerald caught 52 passes for 720 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior.

247Sports evaluated his development as a prospect:

“Fitzgerald has made a big jump in his development over the last year and especially this off-season. He has clearly established himself as one of the top players in the region and one of the better receivers nationally as well.”

The scouting report highlighted his improved athleticism.

“Has a strong, athletic frame with big hands and has improved his twitch and athleticism. He’s moving more fluidly, looks more explosive getting down the field and has more juice in his game from an athletic standpoint. He was always polished in terms of his route running and ball skills, which isn’t surprising when you consider his father Larry Fitzgerald was one of the most technically sound receivers to ever play the game.”

Fitzgerald has added strength and confidence to his game.

“To see the jump in athleticism has been encouraging and he’s also filling out his frame, pushing 200 pounds now and looks stronger and is playing with a ton of confidence. He’s winning jump ball battles, catching the ball through contact and his game is definitely trending in the right direction right now.”

The evaluation concluded with high praise for his potential.

“A legitimate high major, NFL prospect in his own right and has the tools to be an immediate impact player at the next level as well.”
