ESPN Assigns Broadcast Crews for College Football Playoff Semifinals image

ESPN announced its top broadcast teams for the College Football Playoff semifinals Thursday and Friday night. The games will be played in Glendale, Arizona, and Atlanta, Georgia.

The Fiesta Bowl between Ole Miss and Miami kicks off Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit, ESPN’s lead crew, will call the game.

Ole Miss reached the semifinals with postseason wins over Tulane and Georgia. The Rebels did it without head coach Lane Kiffin, who guided them to an 11-1 regular season but wasn’t available for the playoff games.

Miami is seeking its first national championship appearance since 2002. The Hurricanes have allowed just 17 combined points against Texas A&M and Ohio State in the playoff behind a defense that’s been really tough to score on.

Friday’s Peach Bowl features Oregon against Indiana at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy are assigned to that matchup.

Oregon is chasing its first national title. Under Dan Lanning, the Ducks have put themselves in position to reach the championship game. Indiana continues a historic season that included a Big Ten championship and the program’s first Rose Bowl victory.

Among the four remaining teams, Miami is the only school that’s won a national championship recognized by the AP or Coaches’ Poll.

The next title winner will either end a drought of at least 24 years or capture its first crown.
