No. 4 Georgia travels to Atlanta on Saturday to face No. 23 Georgia Tech in the annual in-state rivalry game.
The Bulldogs have controlled this series recently. Georgia has won seven straight games against the Yellow Jackets and hasn’t lost at Bobby Dodd Stadium since 1999.
Georgia (10-1) sits at No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings after bouncing back from its only loss this season.
The Bulldogs suffered that lone defeat against Alabama but responded with a convincing victory over Ole Miss. Quarterback Gunner Stockton has stepped up when needed, while Georgia’s physical defensive front continues to dominate opponents.
That combination has kept the Bulldogs firmly in College Football Playoff contention heading into the final weekend of regular season play.
Georgia Tech (9-2) is having its best season in nearly a decade under coach Brent Key.
The Yellow Jackets rank No. 16 in the CFP rankings behind strong play from quarterback Haynes King and an opportunistic defense that creates turnovers.
But Tech has struggled lately in ACC play. The Yellow Jackets have lost two of their last three conference games, including a 42-28 loss to Pittsburgh last Saturday.
A victory over Georgia would give Tech its first 10-win season since 2009.
It would also shake up the College Football Playoff picture with Georgia Tech potentially earning consideration for an at-large bid.
The game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. It probably won’t go eight overtimes like last year’s marathon.
