From March to October 2024, Jared Curtis, a top-notch five-star quarterback, had his sights set on the Georgia Bulldogs. But after seven months, he decided to hit pause and rethink his options. Fast forward three months, and Georgia is still eager to snag this talented player from Nashville.

Just this Thursday, Georgia’s head coach, Kirby Smart, stopped by Curtis’ home for a visit. This comes right after offensive coordinator Mike Bobo did the same thing last week.

Even though Curtis backed out of his commitment, Steve Wiltfong from On3 feels confident about Georgia’s chances. They might just have what it takes to win him over.

Last weekend, Curtis shared with On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he’s got some official visits lined up: Oregon from June 6-8, Georgia from June 13-15, and South Carolina from June 20-22. Plus, he’s planning a quick unofficial trip to Alabama for their junior day on February 1.

Curtis recently revealed his top six schools, which include Oregon, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Auburn, and Ohio State.

And here’s something pretty amazing: This fall, Curtis was named the 2024 Gatorade Tennessee Football Player of the Year. He led his team, the Eagles, to an impressive 13-1 record and a state championship. Over 14 games, he passed for 2,830 yards and 40 touchdowns, while also rushing for 637 yards and 18 more scores.

Curtis isn’t just any player. He’s the nation’s No. 4 overall prospect for the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking—a ranking that takes into account all major recruiting sources. Plus, he’s the No. 1 quarterback in his class and the top recruit coming out of Tennessee.

So, what’s next for Curtis? It’s anyone’s guess, but one thing’s for sure: whichever school lands him will be getting an incredible talent.
