Carson Beck college football eligibility

Beck’s redshirt in 2020 automatically granted him an extra year of eligibility. The COVID-19-affected 2020 season provided yet another year courtesy of an NCAA blanket waiver.

The NCAA ruled that the 2020-21 season wouldn’t count against eligibility for athletes at risk of contracting COVID-19.

Because Beck played in Georgia’s 2020 season during his redshirt year, he remained a redshirt freshman in 2021. This means Beck retains eligibility through the 2026 season if he chooses to continue playing.
