Duke opens its 2025 season Thursday, Aug. 28, hosting Elon at Wallace Wade Stadium for the season opener.
The Blue Devils face the Phoenix for the second straight year. Duke rolled to a 26-3 victory in last season’s opener, which marked Manny Diaz’s first game as head coach.
That debut campaign ended with a 9-4 record and a TaxSlayer Gator Bowl appearance.
Duke returns 14 players from last year’s squad while adding 28 freshmen and nine transfer arrivals to reload the roster. The Blue Devils didn’t crack the preseason top 25 in either the AP or coaches’ polls, though both rankings gave Duke votes.
The ACC’s preseason projections slot Duke sixth in the league.
History heavily favors the Blue Devils in this matchup. Duke holds an 8-0-1 record against Elon across nine all-time meetings dating back to 1920.
