Disney’s Hulu will feature North Carolina football and coach Bill Belichick in an upcoming docuseries, according to Front Office Sports.
EverWonder Studio will produce the series featuring the six-time Super Bowl champion’s transition to college football. The documentary comes after a potential HBO Hard Knocks project fell apart during the offseason.
EverWonder declined to comment on the project. Disney and UNC representatives didn’t respond to requests for comment.
The Hulu partnership makes sense for Disney. Most Tar Heels games this season will air on ESPN, creating natural cross-promotional opportunities between the network and streaming service.
Belichick signed with North Carolina in December, surprising the college football world.
His hiring generated significant media attention beyond just his coaching credentials. Much of the focus centers on his relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, whom Belichick calls his “muse.”
Hudson’s presence reportedly contributed to the HBO Hard Knocks project falling through. The age gap between the couple continues drawing scrutiny as Belichick prepares for his college debut.
Critics aren’t holding back as the season approaches. USA Today’s Matt Hayes expects tough questions at ACC Media Days in two weeks.
“We’re about two weeks from ACC Media Days, and there’s nothing North Carolina coach Bill Belichick or his muse — if Belichick calls his 24-year-old girlfriend his muse, so should we — can do about it,” Hayes wrote. “No hiding behind the NFL shield or ESPN comfort blanket. No demanding to be treated differently because you’re Bill (and the Muse) and everyone else isn’t.”
Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd expressed doubts about Belichick’s potential success.
“If Belichick was in the SEC or Big 10, he’d get absolutely rolled,” Cowherd said. “This thing could be Cirque du Soleil. This has the potential to be just a mess.”
The docuseries will capture Belichick’s adjustment from NFL dominance to college football’s recruiting demands and different culture.
North Carolina opens the 2025 season with expectations higher than they’ve been in years, despite the off-field distractions surrounding their new coach.
