Ohio State’s CFP Bye Week
**Ohio State** earned a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff bracket.
The Buckeyes won’t play again until **Dec. 31** in the Cotton Bowl. Their opponent remains unknown and depends on the CFP opening round matchup between **Miami** and **Texas A&M**.
Ohio State will face the winner of that game in Arlington.
The bracket structure gives the top-seeded teams nearly three weeks between their conference championship games and their playoff openers. Ohio State last played on Dec. 7 when they beat Oregon in the Big Ten Championship.
Other top seeds **Oregon**, **Georgia**, and **Penn State** also sit idle this weekend with similar bye weeks.
