The 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl kicks off Saturday in Mobile, Alabama, offering NFL prospects a final showcase before April’s draft.
Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss quarterback, has emerged as the standout performer during practice sessions.
Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy confirmed Dart’s impact through player voting.
“Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart named top QB on American squad in vote from CB & DS position groups at Practice Player-of-the-Week awards ceremony today at 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl,” Nagy posted on X.
The 6-foot-2, 226-pound quarterback entered Senior Bowl week projected as a third-round pick. That’s changing rapidly.
ESPN‘s Dan Orlovsky now projects Dart as a first-round selection. ESPN College Football host Matt Barrie suggests even higher potential.
“Jaxson Dart should be in the discussion as the top overall QB,” Barrie said.
Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders remain the consensus top quarterbacks for most analysts. But Dart’s combination of arm talent and mobility has scouts reconsidering their rankings.
Dart’s 2024 season statistics support the rising interest:
- 4,279 passing yards (third nationally)
- 29 passing touchdowns
- 6 interceptions
- 495 rushing yards
- 3 rushing touchdowns
Brad Crawford of 247Sports suggests Dart’s talents were previously overshadowed by Ole Miss’s system.
“Everyone noticing Jaxson Dart is a good QB because he starred at the Senior Bowl. He’s BEEN elite. Lane Kiffin just underachieved is all,” Crawford posted.
Ole Miss finished 10-3, missing the 12-team College Football Playoff after a late-season loss to Florida. Dart threw two interceptions in that 24-17 defeat.
The Senior Bowl represents Dart’s final collegiate appearance before the NFL draft combine.
