Bill Belichick returned to Chapel Hill for his second spring practice as North Carolina’s head coach. His girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, documented the moment on social media.
“Back into the fishbowl Happy 1st spring practice,” Hudson wrote on Instagram with a photo of Belichick at the podium.
The post marked the beginning of year two for the legendary coach at UNC.
Hudson spent the offseason away from Chapel Hill focusing on cheerleading competitions and attending Tar Heels basketball games with Belichick. She also posted about environmental issues affecting local fishing ecosystems.
Belichick went 4-8 in his college coaching debut last season. The transition from NFL to college football proved challenging as the Tar Heels struggled with a roster built largely through the transfer portal.
The former New England Patriots coach was also passed over for first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Fame induction this year. Hudson responded to the snub with several social media posts criticizing the voters’ decision.
UNC will open Belichick’s second season in Dublin, Ireland. The international game represents a significant opportunity for the program to gain exposure and reset expectations after last year’s disappointing record.
The Tar Heels are expected to rely heavily on transfer players again this season. Spring practice will be crucial for integrating new additions and establishing team chemistry before the overseas opener.
Hudson’s social media presence has become a regular feature of Belichick’s tenure at North Carolina. She frequently shares behind-the-scenes content from games and practices.
The coaching situation at UNC contrasts sharply with other programs facing uncertainty this spring.
