Jordyn Tyson enters the 2026 NFL Draft as one of the top wide receivers in the class. His biggest challenge isn’t what he does on the field, but how often he’s been able to stay on it.

The former Colorado and Arizona State receiver missed 16 games during his college career due to injuries. A season-ending knee injury during his freshman year forced him to sit out parts of two seasons.

Tyson’s tape shows elite talent. When healthy, he has the skills for a productive NFL career. But his injury history has raised red flags among scouts heading into draft season.

Here’s a breakdown of Tyson’s injury timeline and games missed each season.

Jordyn Tyson injury history

Tyson missed significant time across three collegiate seasons. He started at Colorado under Deion Sanders before transferring after one year. He spent his final seasons at Arizona State, including one campaign largely spent recovering from that 2022 knee injury.

Despite being considered one of the best route runners in this draft class, Tyson’s stock has dropped due to availability concerns. Three major injuries during college have made scouts nervous, according to league sources.

Here’s how each injury impacted his college career.

2022 knee injury

Tyson went down with a season-ending knee injury late in his freshman year at Colorado. He missed the final three games of the season and later transferred to Arizona State. The injury required extended recovery time, forcing him to miss all nine games during his first year with the Sun Devils and take a redshirt season.

Before the injury, Tyson showed promise at Colorado. He averaged 21.4 yards per catch with a long of 81 yards, finishing with 22 receptions for 470 yards and four touchdowns.

2024 collarbone injury

In his first active season at Arizona State, Tyson played 12 regular season games before a collarbone fracture ended his year early. He missed the Sun Devils’ College Football Playoff run, sitting out two of the team’s 14 total games.

Arizona State received a first-round bye before falling to Texas 39-31 in double overtime. Cam Skattebo led the team in rushing and receiving yards while also throwing a 41-yard touchdown pass, finishing with three total scores.

2025 hamstring injury

Tyson’s most recent injury has scouts most concerned. After catching 10 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown against Texas Tech on Oct. 18, he suffered a hamstring injury that sidelined him for three weeks. The issue lingered throughout the season, limiting his availability during his final college campaign.

When healthy, Tyson’s potential remains elite. Mel Kiper’s latest big board ranks the former Sun Devil as the No. 7 prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Tyson skipped the 2026 NFL Combine to avoid reinjury risk and allow more recovery time. He worked out individually on April 17.

Total games missed in college

Injuries cost Tyson 34% of his possible college games. The 2022 knee injury ended his freshman season and wiped out his entire 2023 campaign. He returned to start all 12 games he played in 2024 but missed Arizona State’s playoff games with the collarbone injury. In 2025, he started all nine games he played while missing three due to hamstring issues.

Here’s the complete breakdown of games missed:

Year Injury Games missed
2022 Knee 3
2023 Knee (recovering from 2022) 9
2024 Collarbone 2
2025 Hamstring 3
TOTAL 16
