The Texas Longhorns landed another key recruit for their 2027 class Friday when four-star tight end Brock Williams announced his commitment on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
Williams chose Texas over Ohio State and Georgia in the nationally televised announcement.
“Longhorn nation I’m home, HOOK EM”
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect from Libertyville High School in Illinois ranks as a top-100 player nationally in both the 247Sports Composite and Rivals Industry rankings. Both Rivals and 247Sports rate him as a four-star recruit.
Williams put up strong numbers as a junior with 44 catches for 596 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns. He also returned two kicks for touchdowns on special teams.
Andrew Ivins of 247Sports says Williams “already has a full route inventory” and projects as a threat at all three levels of the field. The scouting report highlights his “burst, agility, and awareness” along with his versatility.
Williams has lined up wide, in the slot, and out of the backfield during his high school career. Scouts praise his body control and red-zone effectiveness.
The commitment gives Texas 11 total pledges in the 2027 class. Williams joins five-star wide receiver Easton Royal, four-star running back Noah Roberts, and three-star tight end JT Geraci as offensive skill position commits for head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Looking Ahead
With summer official visits approaching, Texas will look to build on this recruiting momentum heading into the fall.
The Longhorns open the 2026 season September 5 against Texas State.
