Big Commitment: **Briggs Cherry** Chooses Louisville

Chattanooga’s Baylor School has a star quarterback, and he’s just made a big decision. Briggs Cherry, set to graduate in 2026, is heading to Louisville.

It’s a pretty big deal for Louisville’s head coach, Jeff Brohm. Cherry is the sixth commitment for their 2026 lineup.

“The Ville just felt like home to me and my family, and they run the offense that best fits my scheme,” Cherry shared.

Cherry’s got some serious skills. Last season, he passed for a whopping 2,718 yards and racked up 31 touchdowns with only three interceptions. That’s impressive!

His high school coach, Erik Kimrey, thinks the world of him. "They’re getting No. 1 an elite human being," he said. "He’s the leader of our team. Probably the nucleus and glue of the chemistry we have."

And it’s not just Louisville that wanted him. Cherry had offers from Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh, among others.

From a talent perspective, Cherry’s a tall quarterback who can make any throw you can imagine. His coach describes his arm as having a "Sunday arm," meaning it’s NFL-ready. He’s quick on his feet mentally, able to understand complex playbooks and deliver consistently on the field. If you give him a good team, he’ll shine even brighter.

Recently, Cherry was a standout at the Battle 7v7 South Florida tournament. He showed off his skills and caught a lot of attention.

So what’s next for Cherry? As he gears up for his college career, it’ll be exciting to see how he develops at Louisville. Can he lead them to greatness? Only time will tell, but it’s definitely something to watch out for.
