Miami Hurricanes Send 10 Players to NFL Combine
The NFL announced 10 Miami Hurricanes players received invitations to the 2024 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, marking one of the program’s strongest showings at the premier pre-draft event.
Quarterback Cam Ward headlines the Miami contingent heading to Indianapolis. The other invited Hurricanes are:
– Wide receiver Xavier Restrepo
– Offensive lineman Jalen Rivers
– Kicker Andres Borregales
– Running back Damien Martinez
– Linebacker Francisco Mauigoa
– Tight end Elijah Arroyo
– Wide receiver Jacolby George
– Wide receiver Sam Brown
– Defensive end Tyler Barron
The invitations follow strong performances by several Hurricanes at the East-West Shrine Bowl and Senior Bowl. Arroyo particularly impressed scouts during Senior Bowl week, potentially improving his draft position.
All-ACC defensive tackle Simeon Barrow Jr. was not among those invited, despite recording 5.5 sacks and forcing a fumble this season.
Ward enters the combine as Miami’s top draft prospect. The quarterback’s performance in Indianapolis could help determine his final draft position in April.
While Miami’s 10 invitees falls short of Michigan’s record-setting 18 players at last year’s combine, it represents significant NFL interest in the Hurricanes’ draft-eligible talent.
The NFL Combine gives prospects opportunities to showcase their athleticism through drills including the 40-yard dash and bench press. This year’s event comes as teams finalize their draft boards following the all-star game circuit.
The complete draft order will be set after Super Bowl 59 on February 9th.
