Several Oregon Ducks players will be available in the 2025 NFL Draft, with many expected to have successful NFL careers.
Among them, defensive end Jordan Burch has remained surprisingly under the radar.
Most mock drafts project Burch as a third or fourth-round selection, which appears to undervalue his potential.
During the 2024 college football season, Burch recorded 31 total tackles, 8.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and five defended passes. He finished his collegiate career with 16 sacks.
Multiple NFL teams could benefit from Burch’s skill set as they evaluate their draft boards.
A recent mock draft connects the Ducks’ standout to a top NFC contender.
Ben Rolfe of Pro Football Network projects Burch to the Minnesota Vikings with the 97th overall pick, which would represent significant value for Kevin O’Connell’s team.
“With so few selections in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Vikings have to make them all count,” Rolfe wrote. “While their pass rush may not scream out as a need, it does look weak compared to their stacked defensive interior. Burch was productive in his final year at Oregon, and while there are issues with his run defense, he could be a valuable piece on pass-rushing downs while he develops that area of his game.”
Minnesota has maintained a strong defensive reputation for years.
Defensive coordinator Brian Flores would likely maximize Burch’s edge-rushing abilities within the Vikings’ scheme.
The situation offers mutual benefits, as Burch would join not only an established defense but also a team that contended for a Super Bowl in 2024.
