Missouri and Kansas will renew one of college football’s most historic rivalries when they meet in Week 2 of the 2025 season. The Border War returns to Columbia with both programs looking to make a statement.
The rivalry dates back to the Civil War era, when tensions between the two states earned the name “Border War.” Missouri holds a 57-54-9 advantage in the all-time series and won the last meeting in 2011.
Eli Drinkwitz aims to lead the Tigers to their third straight double-digit win season. Missouri lost significant talent to the NFL but landed the nation’s No. 7 transfer portal class according to several recruiting services.
The Tigers’ offense features running back Ahmad Hardy and receivers Kevin Coleman Jr. and Xavier Loyd. They’re targeting an SEC championship and playoff berth.
Kansas returns quarterback Jalon Daniels, who led the seventh-best offense in the Big 12 last season. The Jayhawks also lost key players but added Alabama transfer Emmanuel Henderson Jr. at receiver.
Running back Daniel Hishaw Jr. gives Kansas a proven weapon in the backfield.

The rivalry game will be played at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium in Columbia, Missouri. Tickets are available now on StubHub with only five percent remaining as of mid-July.
Ticket prices start around $200 each. Premium seats near the field in the end zone corner cost approximately $526.
