NFL Draft Analyst Warning About QB Will Howard Refuted by Former Colorado Star in Viral Tweet image

Former Ohio State quarterback Will Howard’s NFL Scouting Combine performance has drawn criticism despite his recent national championship win.

CBS Sports’ NFL draft analyst Chris Trapasso described Howard’s combine showing as particularly disappointing.

“Howard was one of the biggest quarterbacks among this year’s group — unquestionably a positive,” Trapasso wrote. “While he deserves respect for testing, Howard had the lowest vertical and broad of the tiny collection of quarterbacks. Beyond that, he was noticeably inaccurate at all levels of the field during the throwing session, missing high and behind his targets. It was ugly.”

Not all evaluations have been negative, however.

Potential first-round quarterback Shedeur Sanders defended Howard in a tweet that has gained significant attention.

“I don’t understand y’all hating on Howard,” Sanders wrote, tagging Howard. “He just won a natty. It’s hard to throw to WR’s that you don’t know, everyone run routes different!”

Sanders’ message has received over one million views, with many fans supporting his defense of Howard.

Howard transferred from Kansas State to Ohio State before leading the Buckeyes to their first national championship in ten years.

Draft projections currently place Howard in the later rounds, if he’s selected at all.

The NFL Draft begins April 25 in Detroit.
