Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love Could Boost NFL Draft Stock with Strong 40-Yard Dash at Combine

Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love Could Boost NFL Draft Stock with Strong 40-Yard Dash at Combine image

Jeremiyah Love plans to participate in all drills at this week’s NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis. The Notre Dame running back is the consensus top player at his position for the 2026 NFL Draft.

“Jeremiyah Love, I am told, expected to participate in drills,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said on Monday. “He is expected to run the 40 (yard dash).”

Love is ranked No. 2 on the NFL.com big board.

The decision shows confidence from Love, who could’ve skipped certain events given his status as the draft’s top running back. Many highly-ranked prospects choose to limit their combine participation to avoid potential drops in their draft position.

Running back has become a devalued position in recent years. Teams typically wait until later rounds to address the position.

Love represents a rare exception who’ll likely hear his name called in the top 10 picks despite playing a position that’s declining in value across the league.

His best chance at maintaining that draft position is a strong showing at Lucas Oil Stadium. An impressive 40-yard dash time could eliminate any remaining doubts about selecting a running back that high in the draft.

The Notre Dame product will have opportunities for NFL success regardless of where he lands. Multiple teams have shown interest in his services.

Love’s decision to put himself through the full combine process demonstrates his willingness to compete at the highest level.
