Chris Henry Jr., a standout wide receiver from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, is sticking with his commitment to Ohio State. But, he’s also checking out some other top schools this summer.
He’s lined up visits to four major programs. First stop? Miami on May 30. Then, he’ll head over to USC on June 6, followed by Oregon on June 13. He’ll wrap up his tour with a visit to Ohio State on June 20.
Henry has been committed to the Buckeyes since July 28, 2023. He’s already visited Oregon and USC this year. Both schools are trying hard to win him over. After all, he’s the son of the late NFL wide receiver Chris Henry.
In a recent chat with On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Henry shared his thoughts on Ohio State’s decision to promote receivers coach Brian Hartline to offensive coordinator. Henry’s all in on the move.
“I love this move,” Henry told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “Coach Hartline knows how to develop receivers better than anyone, and now with him as OC, I know he’s going to put us receivers in the best position to dominate for sure.”
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 195 pounds, Henry is one of just four commits in Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class. Flipping him from the Buckeyes? That’s gonna be really tough. But other programs will get their shot to impress him this summer.
Chris Henry Jr. Scouting Summary
So, what makes Henry such a hot prospect? Here’s the scoop from On3:
He’s a big receiver with a unique mix of size, athleticism, and coordination. Just before his sophomore season, he measured over 6-foot-4.5 and around 185 pounds. Pretty impressive, right? Plus, he clocked an electronically-timed 4.65-second 40-yard dash at Under Armour’s Ohio Camp. That’s fast!
Henry’s got some amazing movement skills for his size. He can change direction easily and is shaping up to be a top-notch route runner as he develops. While he’s not super long for his height, he’s got solid ball skills and a good catch radius. With his NFL lineage, it’s no wonder he’s projected to be one of the top receivers early on in the 2026 cycle.
