The Pittsburgh Steelers could target Ohio State quarterback Will Howard in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, according to Curt Popejoy of Steelers Wire.

“We love the tools that Will Howard brings, along with his great size and athleticism. He seems like a smart quarterback and capable of learning from a veteran,” Popejoy wrote.

Howard transformed from a question mark to a team strength during Ohio State’s national championship season.

The Buckeyes quarterback completed 73.1 percent of his passes for 4,010 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 2024. He added 226 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.

Draft analysts currently project Howard as a mid-round selection, likely in the third or fourth round.

Pittsburgh currently lacks a clear starter at quarterback. The Steelers have been linked to Aaron Rodgers in free agency but haven’t secured a commitment from the veteran signal-caller.

If selected by Pittsburgh, Howard would likely develop behind a veteran starter before potentially competing for the starting role in future seasons.

Howard is among several Buckeyes stars from the championship team expected to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
