Kane Archer, a four-star quarterback from Greenwood, Arkansas, has narrowed his college choices down to seven schools. He shared this news with On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday.
His top picks? SMU, UCF, Louisville, Appalachian State, Missouri, Arkansas, and Ole Miss.
Archer is kind of a big deal. On3 ranks him as the No. 151 overall prospect and the No. 10 quarterback for 2026. They’re the only major recruiting service giving him such high marks.
But when you look at the On3 Industry Ranking, which averages out all the major recruiting services, he’s the No. 407 overall prospect for 2026. Still pretty impressive, right? He’s also the No. 26 quarterback and the sixth-best recruit from Arkansas.
This guy knows how to win. Archer has led Greenwood High School to 26 straight victories, snagging back-to-back state championships. Last season, he was named the 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year in Arkansas after throwing an insane 81.5% completion rate. He racked up 3,880 passing yards, 57 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. Oh, and he also ran for 795 yards and 10 more touchdowns.
Schools have definitely noticed his talent. In January, several colleges came to check him out in person.
“Missouri came in to watch me throw in January, Appalachian State came by, UCF and USF stopped by and a lot of schools checked on me,” Archer said. “I got great feedback from the coaches who saw me throw, all said they loved it and I will continue to build my relationships with those schools.”
It’s going to be exciting to see where Archer ends up. With his skills and the attention he’s getting, his future in football looks pretty bright. Which school will he choose? We’ll have to wait and see!
