Oregon’s football team is on a roll, and it’s not just about their recent Big Ten championship win. They’ve kicked off the 2026 recruiting season with a bang. Oregon currently holds the top spot in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings as of mid-February, thanks to nine solid commitments, including seven blue-chip prospects.
It all started over a year ago when Scottsdale (Ariz.) Willamette’s standout defensive lineman, Tony Cumberland, decided to join the Ducks on September 23, 2023. He’s been loyal to Oregon ever since. Cumberland is no small fry—he’s ranked as the No. 51 prospect nationwide for the 2026 cycle. This ranking pulls together insights from all major recruiting media sources.
Then there’s Kendre Harrison, the top tight end in the country. He committed to Oregon back in November and is a five-star recruit, ranking No. 15 overall. Why did he pick Oregon? "Oregon is the total package," Harrison shared with On3. "I chose Oregon because of their player development, the coaching I will get there, the culture, and the place. I like Eugene a lot."
A couple of other names are almost reaching that five-star status too. There’s Kodi Greene from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, who’s the No. 24 player nationally and the fourth-best offensive tackle. Then, there’s Texan Tradarian Ball, the fourth-ranked running back in the nation, sitting at No. 38 overall for 2026.
Ball and Greene made their commitments just a month apart last summer. Ball hopped on board in late July, while Greene joined the Ducks on August 12.
Other notable blue-chip recruits include defensive linemen Bott Mulitalo and Tomuhini Topui, and linebacker Tristan Phillips.
Kendre Harrison stands out as the top-ranked offensive player in Oregon’s current class, while Tony Cumberland leads on the defensive side. Interestingly, two of the current recruits hail from Oregon itself: Cumberland and his Willamette teammate, Viliami Moala.
