Oregon Ducks will pair quarterback Dante Moore with five-star freshman receiver Dakorien Moore this fall, creating a potential dynamic passing combination for the 2024 season.
ESPN’s Max Olson expects the Moore-to-Moore connection to develop quickly as both players adjust to the Ducks’ offense.
“I’m expecting Dakorien Moore to play right away for Oregon and be one of college football’s next great freshman wide receivers,” Olson wrote. “Landing the 5-foot-11, 182-pound speedster was a massive recruiting victory for Dan Lanning and the Ducks, and Moore should have every opportunity to step right in and help replace the production of Tez Johnson.”
The freshman wideout was ranked as the nation’s No. 1 receiver prospect in the 2024 class according to 247 Sports.
Moore was rated the No. 4 overall player nationally and the fifth-best prospect from Texas after starring at high school powerhouse Duncanville.
The talented receiver chose Oregon over several elite programs including Ohio State, Texas and LSU.
Coach Dan Lanning faces the challenge of replacing both quarterback Dillon Gabriel and receiver Tez Johnson from last season’s Big Ten championship team.
The Ducks lost to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl last season and will look to return to the expanded College Football Playoff in 2024.
Oregon’s potentially pass-heavy offense should provide opportunities for both Moore players to showcase their talents.
The Ducks open their season Saturday, August 30, against Montana State in Eugene. Kickoff time and broadcast information have not been announced.
