Micah Parsons didn’t hold back.

The Penn State football legend and current Dallas Cowboys star watched the NCAA Wrestling Championships on Saturday night as fellow Nittany Lion Carter Starocci made history by becoming the first wrestler to win five national titles.

Parsons immediately took to social media to celebrate the achievement.

Penn State’s athletic program has produced legendary figures across multiple sports, from football to volleyball to wrestling.

Starocci’s unprecedented five national championships may indeed put him at the top of that list.

The 184-pound wrestler secured his historic fifth title with a 4-3 decision victory Saturday night in Philadelphia.

“It’s just something that comes along,” Starocci said before the match. “I’m not going to downplay the opportunity. Obviously I’m here doing it, so it obviously means a lot to me. But for the five-time national champ itself, to me it has no meaning. You can take the Penn State wrestling championship logo away, take the name away, take you guys away, put whoever is in front of me, and I’m ready to go. And for me, that’s why I do it.”

Parsons, who brings a similar competitive mindset to his role as a defensive end for the Cowboys, clearly believes no one in Penn State history ranks above Starocci’s accomplishments.
