The Penn State Nittany Lions just got some exciting news. Their star running backs, Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton, are coming back to State College next season. They both announced this big decision on Monday.
First up was Singleton, followed by Allen. Together, these two racked up more than 2,000 yards last season. They helped lead the team to the Orange Bowl, although they came up short against Notre Dame while chasing Coach James Franklin‘s first national title berth.
“We’ve accomplished a lot here, and we took another big step forward this season,” Singleton shared. “But we know we’re capable of being even better. After talking it over with my family, I’ve decided to return to Penn State for the 2025 season. We still have goals we want to reach as a team, and I want to be alongside my teammates as we reach those goals.”
Then Allen chimed in, backing up Singleton’s thoughts about the "unfinished business" the team has.
“I’ve learned so much about football and life from being part of this elite organization that Coach Franklin leads,” Allen posted. “Working with Coach [Ja’Juan] Seider and the Lawnboyz every day is something I’ll cherish forever. Penn State has been an extraordinary experience for me. This has led to my decision to return for the 2025 season.”
And it doesn’t stop there. Quarterback Drew Allar is also reported to be skipping the NFL Draft to stick around at Penn State. With these three offensive stars back in action, the Nittany Lions are shaping up to be strong contenders for another Big Ten title shot. They last made it to the finals in 2016 but faced a tough loss to No. 1 Oregon last month, 45-37.
Even though Defensive Coordinator Tom Allen is leaving soon, the return of these key players sets Penn State up for success this fall.
Will their on-field magic continue as the playoffs approach next year? Only time will tell, but things are looking pretty good for the Nittany Lions.
