ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith declared the NFL’s greatest-of-all-time debate definitively settled in favor of Tom Brady.

On Monday’s “First Take,” Smith addressed comparisons between Brady’s career and Patrick Mahomes following Super Bowl LIX.

“It’s officially over,” Smith said. “I’m not saying there’s nothing you can do. We could be talking about this right now, we’re gonna be talking about this next year.”

Smith compared the quarterbacks’ Super Bowl performances:

Mahomes in Super Bowls:
– 3-2 record
– 65% completion rate
– 265 yards per game average
– 10 touchdowns, 7 interceptions
– 86.9 passer rating
– 3 Super Bowl MVPs

Brady in Super Bowls:
– 7-3 record
– 5 Super Bowl MVPs

Smith also brought Joe Montana back into the conversation, citing his perfect Super Bowl record:

Montana in Super Bowls:
– 4-0 record
– 68% completion rate
– 285 yards per game average
– 11 touchdowns, 0 interceptions
– 3 Super Bowl MVPs

“After this Super Bowl, we talk about Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes and Joe Montana. Montana’s been added back to the conversation.”

While acknowledging Mahomes’s achievements, Smith emphasized that the GOAT discussion “went the hell out the window last night at Super Bowl LIX.”

Brady, the former Michigan quarterback who transitioned to broadcasting after retirement, remains atop the NFL’s all-time quarterback rankings according to Smith.
