Syracuse landed a commitment from Roseby Lubintus, a 3-star offensive tackle from New Jersey for its 2026 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-6, 330-pound lineman goes by the nickname “Purgatory.”

Lubintus chose the Orange over Michigan, Penn State, Florida and West Virginia.
The commitment represents another recruiting victory for second-year head coach Fran Brown.
Purgatory refers to the intermediate state after physical death before entering heaven in religious terms.
The origin of Lubintus’s nickname isn’t clear. As an offensive tackle, his job involves keeping defenders away from the quarterback – perhaps keeping them in their own version of purgatory.
The addition gives Syracuse another large presence on the offensive line for the 2026 class.
