Texas A&M makes strong push for five-star prospect

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko and his staff hosted Witten for an unofficial visit that’s generating buzz across college football recruiting circles.

The five-star recruit from Argyle, Texas has drawn interest from programs across the country. He holds offers from LSU, Michigan, Oregon, and USC.

SEC and Big Ten schools are heavily pursuing the versatile defender who plays both linebacker and wide receiver for Liberty Christian School.

Gabe Brooks of 247Sports evaluated Witten last spring and called him “an athletic, physical, likely role-versatile second-level defensive piece who plays with a relentless motor.”

Witten ran a verified 10.91-second 100-meter dash at approximately 210 pounds during spring 2025 testing.

Brooks highlighted Witten’s football IQ and natural instincts as key attributes that separate him from other prospects in the class.

The younger Witten also holds offers from in-state rival Texas and SEC programs including LSU and Ole Miss. His recruitment is expected to intensify as he enters his junior season.

Texas A&M’s coaching staff spent considerable time with Witten during his recent visit to College Station. Multiple members of the Aggies’ defensive staff were involved in his recruitment.
