Texas A&M secured a major defensive commitment for its 2026 recruiting class following Saturday’s spring game.
Victor Singleton, a four-star cornerback previously committed to Illinois, has flipped to the Aggies, according to On3.
Singleton ranks as the No. 1 player in Ohio and the No. 5 cornerback nationally.
The Toledo Central Catholic standout received offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee and Penn State among other programs.
This commitment represents a significant recruiting win for head coach Mike Elko as he builds his program for SEC competition.
Singleton is also the reigning Ohio state long jump champion, highlighting his athletic versatility.
Illinois had initially secured Singleton’s commitment over several prominent Big Ten programs before losing him to Texas A&M.
Singleton had scheduled an official visit to Illinois in June. It remains unclear if he will maintain that visit following his commitment to the Aggies.
The Ohio defensive back is expected to arrive in College Station for the 2026 season.
