Texas announced that sophomore EDGE rusher Colin Simmons continues his breakout season after recording three sacks against Kentucky Saturday. The performance followed his 2.5-sack showing in the Red River Rivalry win over Oklahoma.
Simmons added a fourth-quarter forced fumble to cap another strong outing for the Longhorns defense.

The former five-star recruit out of Duncanville (TX) now has 7 sacks on the season. He’d managed just 1.5 through the first five games.
Simmons’ speed and strength off the edge create problems for opposing tackles. His ability to bend around blockers makes him tough to contain.
The SEC All-Freshman Team selection earned Freshman All-American honors in 2024. He became the first player in program history to receive the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award.
