Texas has landed former Stanford wide receiver Emmett Mosley V, giving quarterback Arch Manning another weapon as he prepares to take over the starting role.

Mosley, who led all ACC freshmen with 48 receptions last season, has three years of eligibility remaining. He committed to the Longhorns shortly after visiting both Virginia and Texas over the weekend.

“He’ll give new Texas starting quarterback Arch Manning another proven playmaker in a passing attack that must replace Matthew Golden, Gunnar Helm, Isaiah Bond and Silas Bolden,” Max Olson wrote.

The Longhorns’ wide receiver room is quickly becoming one of the most dangerous groups in college football.

Manning, the nephew of former NFL quarterbacks Eli and Peyton Manning, has been waiting his turn behind Quinn Ewers for the past two seasons. Despite limited playing time, he’s remained committed to Texas while many quarterbacks in his situation have transferred.

“There’s nowhere else I want to be. I want to be the quarterback at the University of Texas. Sometimes it’s worth the wait,” Manning said.

Manning is the only quarterback in his draft class who hasn’t transferred from the school he originally committed to.

Texas is coming off a heartbreaking loss in the College Football Playoff semifinals last season. With Manning now entering his third year in the system and a talented receiver group around him, the Longhorns will look to return to the playoff and compete for a championship.
