Texas Tech transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby will enter the NFL’s Supplemental Draft, according to sources, ending his college career amid ongoing legal battles over his eligibility.
Sorsby officially entered his name into the draft pool on June 15th. The deadline to enter was June 22nd.
His decision comes the same day the Big 12 filed a federal lawsuit against Texas Tech and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. The conference wants authority to sanction the school if Sorsby had played this season.
Sorsby was granted eligibility through an injunction despite admitting he bet on his own team.

Draft Process and Sorsby’s College Stats
Sorsby finishes his college career with 7,208 passing yards, 1,305 rushing yards, and 22 rushing touchdowns.
Before the betting scandal, Mel Kiper Jr. ranked Sorsby as the No. 7 quarterback on his 2026 NFL Draft board. He was projected as a potential second-round pick.
The Supplemental Draft uses a specific order based on team records. Teams with six or fewer wins draft first, followed by non-playoff teams with seven or more wins, then playoff teams.
Teams aren’t required to make selections. Any pick in the Supplemental Draft costs that team their corresponding round pick in the following year’s regular NFL Draft.
Sorsby must still review and approve his filing to complete the entry process.
