The buzz around the nation’s top football prospect, Zion Elee, is heating up. This weekend, he made his way to Alabama to check out Auburn University.
Elee, a five-star player from Joppa, Maryland, currently plays for St. Frances Academy. On Saturday, he attended Auburn’s first junior day for the class of 2026.
Even though Elee committed to Maryland back in December, he’s got some ties to Auburn. "I know a little bit about the program at Auburn," he shared with On3 earlier this month. "A lot of my teammates are already there. Tell me all about it, so I will learn about it during the visit."
It’s clear Elee is keeping his options open. While he’s set on Maryland for now, he’s still exploring other schools. "Feeling great about Maryland, I’m committed there, I feel home," he said during the Under Armour All-America event. "I’ve gained a better relationship with the coaches after committing, too."
Standing tall at 6-foot-3 and weighing 220 pounds, Elee is making waves in the recruiting world. He’s ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect for 2026 by the On3 Industry Ranking, which combines ratings from all major recruiting companies. Plus, he’s the top-ranked EDGE player and the second-best recruit from Maryland.
But here’s a fun twist: On3 is the only major service that lists Elee as the No. 1 overall prospect for 2026.
As Elee continues to visit different schools, everyone’s wondering—what will he decide next?
