TCU landed a commitment from one of Texas’ top tight end prospects Saturday.

Braden Bach, an incoming senior at Argyle High School, announced his commitment to the Horned Frogs during a ceremony broadcast by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. Bach chose TCU over Big 12 Conference rivals Kansas and Kansas State.

The Class of 2026 recruit cited proximity to home as a major factor in his decision. TCU’s Fort Worth campus sits about 30 minutes from Argyle, which is located between Fort Worth and Denton.

“First off, there’s nothing like Fort Worth, Texas; I’ve got to love home,” Bach said following his announcement. “Also, just the way they use their tight ends and the opportunities that are presented for me, it looks really good.”

Bach was reportedly the only tight end TCU targeted and offered in the 2026 recruiting class.

“It said that I’m a priority and that’s where I want to be,” Bach said. I want to be somewhere where they actually want me and I’m really excited, I’ve got a great relationship with Coach (Mitchell) Kirsch (TCU’s tight ends coach) and (TCU head) Coach (Sonny) Dykes and I’m really fired up.”

The 6-foot-5, 232-pound prospect produced 26 catches for 247 yards and three touchdowns last season for Argyle. His reception total ranked second on the team.

Bach described his versatility as his biggest strength.

“I can do it all,” he said. “I can catch, I can run, I can block, so I’m coming to play football.”

Bach’s commitment comes as he prepares for his senior season at Argyle. The Eagles finished 13-2 last season and reached the UIL 5A Division II state semifinals before losing to South Oak Cliff.

“We’re looking dominant; we’re returning a ton of starters, we’ve got some really seasoned guys and we’re going to be one of the best teams in Texas,” Bach said.

Argyle opens the 2025 season on August 29 at home against Frisco Lone Star.
