Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter will likely be among the top five players selected in this month’s NFL draft. The two-way standout recorded 1,152 receiving yards, 14 receiving touchdowns, 11 passes defended and four interceptions last season while winning the Heisman Trophy.

Many NFL scouts question whether Hunter can maintain his dual role as wide receiver and cornerback at the professional level, particularly as his career progresses.

Hunter dismissed these concerns when asked about how many snaps he could handle in an NFL game.

“All of them if they give me the chance and opportunity to do it,” he said.

Deion Sanders, who coached Hunter at Colorado, played both positions during his NFL career but primarily focused on cornerback while also returning kicks. Many analysts believe Hunter will eventually need to specialize on one side of the ball.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com described Hunter as an “exciting two-way player whose world-class athleticism and ball skills help him shine on both sides of the ball.” Zierlein noted that Hunter has “a feel for making the biggest plays at the biggest times” and compared him to Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith.

Hunter ranks as the second-best overall prospect in this draft class behind Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter, according to most draft analysts.
